The rain eased up yesterday and Clare, Jessica and I decided to head out to inspect the putting green. When I wandered out onto the deck we were presented with this lovely sight.
After the initial shock I did what any good father would do – I ran inside and left Clare to deal with it. Clare wasn’t entirely thrilled with this option and called her dad who was more than happy to come to the rescue.
I’ve been told to “grow a pair” because it was a harmless carpet snake. I don’t care what anyone says, I’m not going near them! And if the bloody thing comes back or worse still, gets inside the house, then I’m outta here.
After all the excitement it started to rain again so there’s no real update on the completion of my little golf masterpiece. I’m hoping we’ll be good to go by the end of the month but I’m not holding my breath.

April 12, 2013Ants and spiders are lightweights up here. We’ve sprayed quite a lot but still get our fair share of ants, spiders, bats, lizards and mice. Can handle all that, the snake was pushing the friendship.

April 12, 2013I think you mean “sight”, not “site”.

April 14, 2013That snake is putting too much weight on its left side. Also its angle of attack is way too steep. I don’t see any supination of the wrists either. Is this snake serious about its game? Maybe it should read my new book “How to become a champion golfer by looking at pictures of Ben Hogan”?

April 14, 2013Good one Mike! I’ve always wondered how trainers train horses – I even asked a serious horse owner that one and he looked at me like I had two heads. But it’s not like they can use video instructions and alter their technique too much. They get them to run just like we should go play golf.

April 23, 2013Hi cam, so how has the green and bunkers held up with all the rain? Just want to know, would like to get my own green one day. Anything tips or things you have found with synthetic greens would be great! Thanks

April 26, 2013MM: The green has held up well but we’re still under construction. I’m hoping everything will be finished in the next week, the weather has finally turned for the better.
